Expression of Interest: Land Northern Salt Spring Island
The Salt Spring Island Fire Protection District (SSIFPD) invites expressions of interest (EOI)
for the acquisition of a land parcel to replace and relocate Central Fire Hall further north.
This initiative is part of SSIFPD’s ongoing strategic plan to enhance fire protection and
emergency response capabilities for the community.
Project Overview
SSIFPD seeks two-acre parcels for consideration, with the possibility of a land swap
involving the current Central Fire Hall location. The selected site will support the
relocation of the Central Fire Hall further north to address the growing response needs for
Salt Spring Island’s northern region.
This EOI is part of a long-term strategy to identify suitable land for current and future
emergency response infrastructure. As a point of reference, the site for the new main fire
hall was donated and held in trust, demonstrating the forward-thinking nature of SSIFR’s
planning.
Submission Details
Interested parties are encouraged to submit an expression of interest and may contact Rodney
Dieleman, CAO of SSIFPD, for further information or to arrange a meeting. A contract or purchase
agreement will not necessarily result from this EOI.
Submissions must be sent to the undersigned by 4:00 PM, February 21, 2025. SSIFPD reserves the
right to verify submission details independently.
